MT ARARAT SWEEPS MB RELAYS: GIRLS SHATTER COURSE RECORD Oct 08, 2010

Both the girls and boys teams from Mt. Ararat took first place at the Mt. Blue Relays today in Farmington.  The boys finished just over a minute ahead of Mt. Blue, finishing in 58:23, just 23 seconds off the course record held by Maranacook.  Meanwhile the girls bested Mt. Blue by over four minutes finishing in 68:23, besting the old record set by Waterville in 2006 by nearly two minutes.  Cony took 3rd for the boys with Brewer finishing 3rd in the girls race.    The fastest time of the day was turned in by Chase Brown of Boothbay, who covered the opening leg of the just over two mile course in 10:44.  Mt. Ararat's Andy Reifman-Packett and Messalonskee's Harlow Ladd were each just 5 seconds in back of Brown.    On the girls side, the girls from Mt. Ararat had the three fastest times of the day.  Emma Wood lead the way in 13:10 followed by Emilia McGrath and Kate Spies.  For more clickheadline..
