A pair of North Yarmouth Academy seniors were selected for the MaineTrackXC Performance of the Week after record breaking performances at the Lake Region Invitational last Saturday. On the girls side Hannah Austin covered the 2.8 mile course in 17:59 to best a field of 63 runners, Austin's winning time was 38 seconds in front of the runner-up, Gabriella Pabst of Westbrook. The time was also a new course record at Lake Region. Hannah was selected from a group of 5 other performances, she received 18 votes or 48.65 % of the vote.
On the boys side senior Matt Malcom crushed the course at the Lake Region Invitational as he set a new course record of 15:00. Malcom's winning effort was 21 seconds better than Windham's Ben Breton. Matt is one of the individual favorites to win the Class C title this fall, a year ago he placed 3rd. Matt's performance earned him 28 votes or 51.85%.
