2023 Outlook
Orono will be looking to win their sixth consecutive Class C state title this fall, and their ninth title since 2013. The Red Riots have developed into a dynasty, and have the firepower to keep it going in 2023. Orono has nine athletes on its roster to start the season so they will need to stay healthy and have some others emerge behind their top three to keep the streak going. Leading the way is Ruth White who enters her senior season as the best runner in the state and one of the best all-time XC runners in state history. Sophomores Maya Boyington and Clara White finished in the top six in the form a year ago and looked ready to match that or better in 2023.
