Vandongen had an incredible 2022 XC season that saw her capture conference and regional titles, finish runner-up at states, and place sixth at the New England Championship. Amelia showed she can run on flat courses or hilly ones, and excel when she has to push the pace or follow a fast pace. During the outdoor track season, she focused on the hurdles and triple jump. Vandongen was the Class B triple jump runner-up and Class B 300m hurdle champion. She continued to run into the summer at the USATF meets and clocked 2:15.11 at the USATF national meet. Amelia will once again be in contention for the Class B state title and will look to continue her success at the New England Championship.
