Tomaszewski 6.46, Hall 25.67 Greely Girls & York Boys repeat

The York Boys & Greely repeated as WMC Conference Championship on Monday night at USM. Greely girls amassed 11 wins which helped them tally 193 total points to comfortable win ahead of runner-up Falmouth (75). On the Boys side the Wildcats scored 165 to easily win over runner-up Falmouth(104).

Denzel Tomaszewski of Wells set the All-time Maine best for 55m, 6.46, while Kate Hall of Lake Region broke the league record in the Sr 200m, 25.67 to highlight the individual events.

Tomaszewski time has him ranked in a tie for the top time in New England, and currently also #22 in the country.

Hall also won the 55m dash, running a personal best 7.26, which was just .01 off of Logan Crane's league record, the time is the fastest in the state this winter. She would add another win in the long jump where she leapt 17-10 1/2, the 2nd best jump in state history behind her own state record.

Greely's Gwen Sawyer won the Sr Shot put with a state leading 37-3 1/4 mark. Her teammate Alysaa Casarez won the Jr Shot with a heave of 31-9 3/4

Jacob Buhelt of Falmouth lowered his Class B leading 200m time to 23.15 in a great race to come from behind against Tomaszewski, who posted the #2 time in Class B 23.3

Ben Decker of Yarmouth swept the Boys Mile & 2 Mile, Decker won the mile with a big negative split to run 4:32.22, he easily won the 2 mile with a 10:16.09. Kirstin Sandreuter of Greely did the same thing on the firls side taking the mile in a seasonal best 5:18.42, holding off a strong challenge from Heather Evans of York (5:24.63). Kirstin would easily win the 2 mile clocking 11:48.54.

York the boys team champions got great days out of Thomas Reid who won the senior 55m hurdles (8.30), long jump 20-6 1/2, which moves him to the top of the Class B rankings, he was also 3rd in the triple jump, and ran a leg on the winning 4x200m relay. Also contributing big was Josh Brooks who won the Sr. 400m in 52.44, and had a great anchor leg on the 4x200 to bring his team across the line in first (1:37.01), he also placed 3rd in the Sr 200m. Another cog in the Wildcats wheel was Joe Vogel who kicked hard to win the 800m at the line 2:05.72, then won the triple jump with a seasonal best 41-7, he also added a runner-up in the long jump.

Yarmouth's Emma Egan won the Jr 400m in a seasonal best 64.34, then doubled back for the win in the Jr 200m clocking 27.76.

Traip Academy's Kelsey Barnes cleared 10-6 again to win the pole vault.

In the girls triple jump Kaley Sawyer of Grely got the league record holder Jocelyn Lorrey with a personal best 35-6 leap.

James Ferrar of Greely won the Sr Shot as he added to his personal best again with a  throw of 47-3 1/2.

• Sr 200 Meter Dash - Kate Hall of Lake Region High School blazed a 25.67 for the winfollowed by Brennah Martin of Greely High School in 27.97 Next was Laura Mackay of Cape Elizabeth High School in 28.36,  Hannah Nightingale of Traip Academy (28.85), Jocelyn Lorrey of Traip Academy (28.85)

 

• Jr 200 Meter Dash - Emma Egan of Yarmouth High School smoked a 27.76 to win, with Hannah Keisman of Greely High School on her heels in 28.13. Whle Elizabeth Andrews of Wells High School (28.44) was 3rd.

 

• Two Mile Run - Kirstin Sandreuter of Greely High School held strong for a winning time of 11:48.54 and next was Madeline Roberts of Falmouth High School (12:02.07), Hannah Austin of North Yarmouth Academy (12:10.99), Vishva Nalamalapu of Falmouth High School (12:41.45)

 

• Sr 400 Meter Dash - Julia Mitiguy of Greely High School drove to a 1:03.40 to win holding off the 1:03.99 by Sarah Sparks of Falmouth High School,  Lizzy Wagner of York High School (1:04.42), Hayley Steckler of Freeport High School (1:05.09), Sarah Panteleos of York High School (1:06.78), Chloe Hight of Freeport High School (1:06.82), Mary Catheri Kowalsky of Falmouth High School (1:06.84), Erin Lyons of Cape Elizabeth High School (1:07.38), Jillian Rothweiler of Falmouth High School (1:07.39)

 

• Jr 400 Meter Dash - Emma Egan of Yarmouth High School smoked a 1:04.34 to win trailed by Alexa Hoffman of Falmouth High School and her 1:06.42,

 

• Sr 4x200 Meter Relay - Falmouth High School 1:54.47; York High School 1:54.66

 

• 4x800 Meter Relay - Greely High School 10:37.59;

 

• Sr 55 Meter Hurdles - Ashleigh Roberts of Traip Academy sailed past the barries for a 9.10 win with Hannah Nightingale of Traip Academy on her heels in 9.27,  Kelsey Grant of Freeport High School (9.85), Carlie Martin of York High School (9.88), Kaley Sawyer of Greely High School (9.99), Molly Fitzpatrick of Greely High School (10.05).

 

• Jr 55 Meter Hurdles -Hannah Keisman of Greely High School cleared 'em clean in 9.38 for the gold, trailed by Alie Jones of York High School and her 9.66, Olivia Baranowski of Falmouth High School (9.84) finished 3rd, while Jocelyn Mitiguy of Greely High School (9.99) was 4th

 

• Sr 55 Meter Dash - Kate Hall of Lake Region High School drove to a 7.26 to win with Charlotte Cutshall of Falmouth High School on her heels in 7.71 and Ashleigh Roberts of Traip Academy (7.82), Kelsey Grant of Freeport High School (7.87), Laura Mackay of Cape Elizabeth High School (7.89), Brennah Martin of Greely High School (7.92), Ashley Lomasney of York High School (7.98).

• Jr 55 Meter Dash - Elizabeth Andrews of Wells High School smoked a 7.80 to win, next was Oriagna Inirio of Fryeburg Academy (7.91), Alie Jones of York High School (7.98) in 3rd.

 

• 800 Meter Run - Jessica Wilson of Greely High School earned a 2:27.25 win and next was Lydia Shaw of York High School (2:28.51), Hannah Perkins of Lake Region High School (2:34.19), Hailey Petsinger of Cape Elizabeth High School (2:35.51)

 

• Jr High Jump - Samantha Pynchon of Greely High School cleared a 4-8 to win followed by: Allie Swaney of Greely High School (4-8)

• Sr 4x200 Meter Relay - York High School 1:37.01; Wells High School 1:37.35; Falmouth High School 1:37.73;

 

• Sr 55 Meter Hurdles - Thomas Reid of York High School flew over the hurdles with a 8.30 victory, trailed by Parker Hayes of Sacopee Valley High School and his 8.41, Chance Carr of Greely High School (8.57), Ben Giffard of Greely High School (8.68), Jake Burns of North Yarmouth Academy (8.78). Reid had the top time out of the prelims (8.50). Next was Hayes (8.56), Carr (8.59), Giffard (8.80), Burns (8.91)

 

• Sr 55 Meter Dash - Denzel Tomaszewski of Wells High School drove to a 6.46 to win in a new state all-time best, Jacob Buhelt of Falmouth High School 6.8 was next They were followed by Spencer Sibley of Wells High School (6.93), Thomas Fortier of Falmouth High School (6.95), Divine Dockery of Fryeburg Academy (7.04), Travis Hamre of Yarmouth High School (7.06), Jacob Isaacson of Greely High School (7.10).

 

• Jr 55 Meter Dash - Reed Norton of Wells High School sprinted 7.09 for the victory,

 

• 800 Meter Run - Great race for Joe Vogel of York High School who won in 2:05.72 with Azad Jalali of Falmouth High School on his heels in 2:05.78. After that was Wes Crawford of Yarmouth High School at 2:08.62, Tucker Corbett of York High School (2:09.48)

 

• Sr High Jump - Elijah Locke of Gray New Gloucester High School got over 6-0 in his victory, followed by: Andy Roukey of Falmouth High School (5-8), followed by: Nick Moulton of York High School (5-8)

 

• Long Jump - Thomas Reid of York High School lept 20-6.5 to get first, followed by: Joe Vogel of York High School (19-10), Spencer Sibley of Wells High School (19-4.5), Ryan Moulten of Sacopee Valley High School (18-10.25)
