2013-14 Indoor Track Event Previews: 55m
Class A
Amanda Knight of Messalonskee was the state runner-up last winter clocking a personal best 7.48, she followed that up with a 5th in the 100m outdoors. Knight will be looking for her first individual state crown this winter.
She'll have plenty of competition with 3rd, 4th & 5th back from last year as well. Bonny Eagle's Audrey Weyand was 3rd a year ago with a 7.52, Weyand was 4th in the outdoor 100m. Meredith Willard of Cheverus was 4th, and Tori Daigle of Thornton Academy was 5th.
Watch out for Skowhegan's Jaycee Cushman who wasn't on the podium last year, but emerged outdoors with a 3rd place finish in the 100m ahead of Knight & Weyand.
Also added into the mix is Class B 4th place finisher Charlotte Cutshall of Falmouth who ran a best of 7.70 last winter
All returners who meet the state qualifying mark of 7.90

Class B
The fastest sprinter ever in the state Maine, Kate Hall of Lake Region is back for her junior year looking to win more state titles, and add more records to her already impressive resume. Hall will be looking to add a 3 straight 55m title this winter, but more importantly break the state meet record of 7.13 held by Logan Crane. Hall broke the all-time state best last winter with a 7.07 clocking to win the New Championship. Outdoors Hall improved even more as she ran a 11.68 in the 100m to smash the Maine all-time best, she would go on the finish 4th in the New Balance Nationals to earn All-American honors.
Elizabeth Andrews of Wells was 5th in state meet final as a sophomore. Belfast freshman Cassidy Hill was 6th and outdoors was 5th in the 100m final. Cape Elizabeth's Laura McKay was on the podium in 7th.
Watch for Tia Jackson of Old Town who ran a 7.54 last winter but didn't compete in the event at the state meet, Jackson was 6th in the 100m outdoors. Also keep an eye on Maddie Page of Hermon who ran a best of 7.59 a year ago, she had the misfortune of a false start at the state meet
