Kate Hall leaps to a new state record (19-2) in the long jump @ Bowdoin Relays

The highlight of the meet was Kate Hall of Lake Region who opened up her 2013-14 indoor season with a new state indoor record in the long jump Hall, the current state record holder smashed her previous record of 18-6 1/2 with a huge 19-2 jump. The mark is further than her outdoor state record as well. The mark is currently ranks at the US #1 jump
The Waterville boys had 6 relay wins en route to a 117-87 win over Messalonskee while Brunswick was 3rd with 80. The Purple Panthers dominated the two shuttle hurdle races, and then excelled in the jump taking the long, triple & high jump relays. Individually Jordhan Levine was the top triple jumper in the field with a Class B leading 42-4 effort. Trever Gray took the shot put with a heave of 44-10.
Messalonskee did their damage in the the distance events as the Eagles won the 3xMile, 4x800 & Distance Medley Relay.
Josh Horne of Mt Blue was the fastest miler as he ran a state leading 4:38.70.
The Waterville girls won 6 relay events as they held off a strong challenge from Messalonskee 106-97, Brunswick was 3rd with 88.
The Panthers took wins the the 4x200, Sprint Medley, Throwers Relay, Triple Jump, Pole vault & Shuttle hurdle relays. Individually Kellie Bolduc tied for the win in the high jump with a 4-10 clearance. She also added a new state leader in the triple jump with a 34-5 effort. Rachel Bergeron took the win in the shot out with a strong 34-5 throw which is the best throw in the state this winter.
