MRC Performance of the Week: Amanda Knight & Josh Horne

Messalonskee senior Amanda Knight is having a breakout winter, the senior sprinter currently leads Class A in the 55m, 200m, & 400m. Her 62.76 effort in the 400m at her regular season meet last week has earned Knight the Maine Running Company Performance. The mark is the fastest in the state this winter, as he her 27.19 clocking for 200m. This past Tuesday Knight once again lowered her state leading 400m to 61.12. Amanda is a threat to win multiple state titles this year if the first half of her season is any indication.

Mt Blue's Josh Horne is no stranger to success, the senior ran the 2 mile in his meet last week in a state leading time of 9:53.9. This effort in the 2 Mile has earned him the Maine Running Company Performance of the week, Horne has previously won the honor during the xc season. The 9:53.9 effort was a personal best at the distance by a little more than 30 seconds. Josh had the top mile time in the state until the USM Relays, he now ranks #3 in Class A & #4 in the state in the mile. This fall Horne won the Class A XC title, he'll have his eyes on the 2 mile title this winter.
