Hey everyone!

As Championship meets approach and end of the year activities commence, hopefully you've all made fun a priority - within workouts and in the waning days of school. Our Thursday meet last week manifested mirth to the max! Lots of the team was 'tatted up' to exceed aesthetic expectations and pumped to set personal records. We even improved our team wave for the 4x400 relay! I had personal bests in the discus, shotput, and a slight improvement on my 3200m time from a workout during freshman year. Many thanks to my greathearted coaches, charged teammates, and competitors for making that meet one of my favorite outdoor track memories of all and for boosting me through the new events!

This venturesome theme continued into the weekend where I tried the 1500 (4:49.37) at meet #2 of the New Balance Boston Twilight series. After a solid 800 it was a bit of a bold decision to try the race, but totally worth it to stay and see fellow Mainers like Elizabeth Perry compete in throwing events and Will Shafer crush a 1500 too! Thanks to the one and only Frank Poulin for capturing a proud moment for me with his outstanding sports photography and for his superhuman ice cream eating ability!

Lastly but certainly not least, it was a remarkable feeling to be honored by EHS Alumni at their association's annual scholarship meeting last week. Congrats to my fellow classmates who were recognized too! And my deepest gratitude to Paul & Ernie for just everything they do!

As temperatures rise I urge everyone to get outside. Enjoy the way life should be - try a "polar plunge," a totally new event (or three!), train hard, and soak up fun in the sun over the next few weeks! Shoutout to Bobby and Coach Beardsley for a wonderful last showing of Les Miserables and for all the hard work they've done. And to Stacey Connor for passing her big test! Good luck to all at the upcoming meets!!! Cheers!
