
A Seniors XC To-Do List

As your final year of double sessions dwindles down to its final days, it’s time for this year’s seniors to realize the gravity that the season ahead of them brings with it. This is the year to put an exclamation mark on the sport that has filled you with anger and happiness, disappointment and hope, along with sacrifice and success. No matter what your feelings are about the season at hand, take it from a graduated XC runner; you’ll miss those autumn afternoons and the sound of spikes on fallen leaves. I’ve compiled a checklist to help you graduating seniors take full advantage of your last chance at glory.
1. Set goals before the season starts
- Make short term as well as long term goals
- Examples: Be in the top 3 of your team or run a faster time every meet. Completing smaller goals along the way will help you gain momentum rolling into States.
