Tell us how your summer training went?

My summer training went really well. I ran a lot of long, slow miles in June and July gradually building up my base, and in August I started focusing more on my pace. I also went to a running camp which was really great because I not only learned how to train, but how to properly fuel myself and take care of my body, which was really helpful.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

My main goal is to be in the low 19:00s by States and more importantly remain healthy and free of injuries.

You won your first race of the season last weekend, what did it feel like to cross the finish line first?

It felt great to lead the race, and winning definitely boosted my confidence level. It was even better when our team won this week! I am just really happy to be running.

What has been the biggest transition from middle school to high school XC?

The biggest jump for me from middle school to high school was certainly the intensity. Middle school XC emphasized fun, and it was definitely enjoyable. High school is equally as fun and so much more rewarding. I love being on the team and running for Morgan, it is such a privilege!

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I have been running since 6th grade; at Merriconeag XC was the only fall sport offered so I figured why not?

What shoes do you train in?

Nike Free 4.0 and New Balance 980’s

What shoes do you race in?

Saucony Shay XC 3

Favorite Post-race Meal?

That's a hard one… I really enjoy any type of pasta and then caramel sea salt almond ice cream for desert!

Flat course or hills?

I can’t believe I am saying this, but I think I like hilly courses, it makes everything much more interesting.

Facebook , Instagram or Twitter?

I don’t really like any of them.

Favorite song at the moment?

Probably “Black Widow” by Iggy Azalea though I am not sure.

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

Allyson Felix and Therese Johaug
