How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I have been running since fourth grade when my dad forced me to go to an xc practice; turned out I was pretty decent at it.

Do you remember your first real race?

My first real race was also in fourth grade. I remember placing fifth behind two of my current teammates and a few other guys at Twin Brook.

How is your summer training going?

My summer training is going very well. Just did a 65 mile week and the next two weeks will be 70 mile weeks.

What is your favorite workout?

Honestly my favorite workout is in xc when we do four one mile repeats at threshold. Comes out at about 5:20 miles.

Which meets will you be running in this year?

Scarborough runs the regular season meets with the addition of Festival of Champions in Belfast. I might run at the Manchester invite if the opportunity prevents itself.

Do you have a favorite course? What do you think is the toughest course in the state?

Toughest course in the state is easily Marshwood's xc course. My favorite course is Belfast.

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

This isn't in cross but my most outstanding achievement is probably my freshman year at outdoor states when I placed second to Justin Tracy in the 3200.

What are your goals for the upcoming cross country season?

My goals are to place top five at the state meet and pr, which I haven't done since sophomore year in the 5k.

What do you love most about running?

The thing I love most about running is how simple it is. Train and work hard, and you will have a good season.

Favorite quote, same as last years, is "Do or do not, there is no try"-Yoda

Do you have any pre-race rituals or routines?

No I don't have any pre race rituals or anything, I just run.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is my dad's pork pie

What was the last movie you saw and what did you think of it?

The last movie I saw was Southpaw and it was amazing, one of the best movies I've ever seen.

What brand of shoes do you train/race in?

I train in Saucony's and race in Nike's.

What professional athlete would you like to meet the most?

I don't want to seem clique but I would want to meet Steve Prefontaine, not only because he was an amazing runner but overall seemed like a cool dude.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

My middle name is brooks, although I don't train in them.

Lastly, if you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?

A t.v., a couch and netflix
