How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I’ve been running for 7 years. In sixth grade, my friend called me up one afternoon wondering if I wanted join the cross country team. I didn’t know much about the sport, but I’m glad I gave it a shot.

Do you remember your first real race?

My first real race was in Cape Elizabeth during my sixth grade cross country season. I remember feeling pretty crappy after the race, but I suppose the pain feeds me.

How is your summer training going?

It’s been a busy summer.

What is your favorite workout?

I like speed workouts. I tried running a speed workout in jeans once. Surprisingly air resistant, but still wouldn’t recommend it.

Which meets will you be running in this year?

I might be participating in the Manchester Invite, but it all depends on what my schedule is like and what my team would like to do.

Do you have a favorite course? What do you think is the toughest course in the state?

My favorite course is either Twin Brooks or Belfast. In my opinion, the toughest course is GNG’s course. Haven’t run it in a while, but man, it was literally running up and down a mountain.

Out of all your running accomplishments so far, which stands out the most?

Whenever I make my coaches and teammates proud.

What are your goals for the upcoming cross country season?

To carry my team through the fields of battle.

What do you love most about running?

Missed the bus? Bicycle broken? Car won’t start? No problem, I’ll run.

Finish the sentence Sean Soucy is

Sean Soucy accidentally locked himself outside of the box. Does anyone have the keys?

Do you have a favorite quote?

“This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.” ~The Joker

Do you have any pre-race rituals or routines?

Before Festival of Champions, I warm up to Scotland the Brave in preparation to ride Scotland’s National Animal through every turn and every hill of the course.

What is your favorite food?

Waffles.

What was the last movie you saw and what did you think of it?

Fight club. I will obey the first rule.

What brand of shoes do you train/race in?

I’m running in New Balance at the moment. As long as the shoe fits, I’m good to go.

What professional athlete would you like to meet the most?

Honestly, I don’t really know what professional athlete I would like to meet. I’m content with the fellow athletes I’ve met and I hope to meet many more no matter who it is.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I cried during the Notebook.

Lastly, if you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?

Knee socks, bandana, and a low-grade beaver tranquilizer.
