Lisbon senior Nick Harriman hasn't always ran well at Twin Brook but Saturday he put all that in the past as he was able to pull away from Winthrop's Jacob Hickey about halfway through the race, en route to his winning effort of 16:56.73.

"I was amazing, outstanding, a great feeling" Harriman said of winning the race and setting a new personal best.

Coming into the season running under 17 minutes was the goal this fall, and since he hadn't done it before Saturday, Harriman assumed his chances were gone.

"I didn't expect to run under 17 minutes because the course is tough & hilly." Harriman commented after the race

At a mile and half Harriman put the race into his hands when he surged to the lead that he would never relinquish. "At no point did I think I was safe, I thought I made my move too soon." Harriman said of his decisive move.

Winthrop's Jacob Hickey ran a strong second with his 17:08.84 effort, his teammate William Vance closed well over the final mile to nab third.

Lisbon's Jordan Cole had a big kick finish to get by a pack of 4 to finish 4th. While Wilson Moore of Waynflete rounded out the top 5.

Boothbay only had 1 runner in top 10, Kyle Ames in 10th, but had 4 others in the top 29 as they edged Lisbon for the team title 92-98.
