Patience paid of for Nick Dall of Waterville

"The game plan was to go out slower and pick up pace at the end." said the freshman

Tsion MacLeod a senior from Caribou pushed the pace from the gun opening up a gap over the chase pack, MacLeod stayed out front for 1 1/2 miles before Dall & Caleb Love-Webb of Camden Hills caught him

Following the plan laid out by Waterville coach Rob Stanton, Dall just needed to execute "I had to trust it, and be able to finish fast."

Dall did just that and was rewarded with a huge personal best of 16:42.84, and more importantly the regional title. The time improved his effort on the same course at FOC by 49 seconds.

Love-Webb rebounded nicely from a few down races as he broke 17 minutes with his runner-up effort of 16:54.09

PVC champion Chathu Karunasiri was third in 17:05.73 while Jason Bartley of Presque Isle was 4th. Early leader Macleod hung on for 5th, but was rewarded with a 56 second personal best.

Caribou dominated the team race as the Vikings placed their scoring 5 in the top 10 as all 7 runners in top 29. They scored just 28 points with an impressive 31 second split for runners 1-5. Waterville took home the runner trophy with 85 points.
