The beat goes on for the Orono Red Riots. Another race another 1-2-3 finish, this time in the Regional Championship
Tia Tardy did her thing as she dominated the field with her winning effort of 18:34.19, a new personal best & state leading time.

Tardy who hasn't lost to a Maine runner all year long will be the favorite to win her first state individual xc title next week at Twin Brook
"We were trying to hit 6 minutes miles for the first 2, and then give it whatever we had." runner-up Hannah Steelman
Steelman last year's individual champion was the runner-up with a 19:09.32, while teammate Kassidy Dill was 3rd in 19:45.62. Dill who was running at less than 100% did what she needed to do to make sure the team advanced to the state meet.
The George Stevens Academy duo of Eliza Broughton & Zeya Lorio placed 4th & 5th
Orono won the team title with 19 points, while George Stevens was the runner-up with 36 points. Aside from the 1-2-3 finish, the Red Riots had Camille Kohtala finish 6th & senior Olivia Fandel in 7th. Orono had all 5 scorers run 20:22 or faster, they averaged 19:37 for 5k.
Orono will be the heavy favorite to repeat as Class C Champion next week.
