In her own words: Tia Tardy - Making Time

Hey everyone!

No one really needs me to talk to them about their running. So, I figured that I would make this about not running. My parents are often harping on me about "staying well rounded." Yes folks, occasionally moms are right. Though running may be a huge part of my life, the performing arts is right there with it. It is important as competitive athletes that we also make time for the other things in life that we enjoy. Keeping ourselves happy is the key to success!

I get my daily dose of happiness practicing and performing in my school's show choir, concert choir, and band. I play the ukulele (might I add that I got a really nice Luna uke for Christmas), flute, piano, and guitar. I can also play the drums...if Band Hero counts. When I am not running, 99% of the time you will find me singing, or dancing terribly in front of anything that shows my reflection. However, I must say that since I have joined show choir I have gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better at it. I have always told myself that I was going to be on Dancing with the Stars one day. I figured if I could get well known for running, that they might come and ask me to dance with them. *hint hint* "I am coming for you Mark Ballas! Someday...just you wait."

I am also a very outdoorsy person. I love taking capturing all of the beautiful things that Mother Nature has to offer (peep the photo below...the one of the sasquatch didn't come out) That was also the same day we lost my cousin on top of the mountain...I was there from 6am to 1am the next morning.

"The most important thing is to enjoy your life to be happy it's all that matters."Audrey Hepburn. So whether it's dancing terribly in the mirror, pretending you are a drummer in a big time rock band, or maybe rescuing your cousin on top of a mountain when it is pitch black, go out and enjoy your life. Don't let your training run you, you run your training. Take care of your whole self.

Stay happy and healthy, Tia
