Falmouth High School was once again host to the Tom Foley Invitational, and despite the early overcast skies it turned out to be a decent day for a track meet. 

Athletes from Lisbon, Greely, York, Cheverus, Scarborough, Thornton Academy, Scaopee Valley, & host Falmouth competed.

Boys Sprints - Falmouth's Matt Polewaczyk won the 100m in a wind aided 11.52, then came back to run a state leading 23.12 to win the 200m. He also added a leg on the winning 800m sprint medley team for the Yachtsmen.

Boys Distance - Falmouth junior Jeremiah Sands had a strong distance double as he clocked a state leading 4:33.24 to win the 1600m, he followed that up with a strong 10:05.38 effort in the 3200m

Boys Hurdles - York's Colt Santoro ran the fastest time in the state with his winning time of 16.35, teammate Jake Young 16.76 was second. Nigel Dunn of Falmouth ran 43.37 in the 300m hurdles to finish first, his time is the fastest in Class A

Boys Jumps - Falmouth's Aaron Thomas won the pole vault with a leap of 12-7, that is #2 in the state and tops in Class A. Jake Martin a sophomore from York won the high jump with a 6-0 clearance.

Boys Pentathlon-  Scarborough's Sam Rusak was the only competitor but put up some solid marks. Rusak jumped a state leading 19-10 in the long jump, threw the discus 133-1, ran a personal best 23.31 in the 200m, & chucked the javelin 134-9.

Girls Distance - Greely freshman Carolyn Todd won the 1600m in 5:34.33, the #2 time in the state so far this season, she doubled back to take the 800m in 2:36.87.

Malia Cryan won the 3200m with a time of 12:31.04, that effort is the state #2.

Girls Pentathlon - The two day competition was won by Adelaide Cooke of Falmouth with a score of 3508, teammate Lydia Farmer scored 3128 for second while Emily Turner of Cheverus was 3rd at 3120.

There were several top marks set during the competition. Cooke threw a state leading 35-1 3/4 in the shot put. Turner ran a state leading 27.16 for the 200m, and the #2 2:31.58 for the 800m.  Morgan Carpenter of Sacopee Valley jumped 5-0 1/4 in the high jump which is state #2. Farmer jumped 15-9 1/4 in the long jump that mark is #2 in the state.

Girls Jumps - Yarmouth All-American Emma Egan won the high jump with a state leading 5-4 clearance, she also won the long jump with another state leading mark of 15-10

Girls Racewalk - Siana Emery of Greely walked 8:20.67 to take the win, that effort is currently ranked state #2.

Girls Throws - Elizabeth Brown of Greely threw 87-7 to win the discus which is good for state #2
