10 Maine Athletes Earn ALL-NE Honors led by Sands & Hamilton

Falmouth senior Jeremiah Sands ran to a lifetime best 15:51.76 to lead the Maine contingent at the New England Championship. Sands effort landed him a 7th place finish, the highest ever performance from a Falmouth Hugh School athlete.
With nothing to lose after a third place finish at the Class A State Championship a week, the senior from Falmouth came to the the New England meet with one thing in mind, "PR, that's all I wanted to do" Sands said after the race.
Class A State Champion Tucker Barber continued his amazing postseason run with a 12th place finish. Barber was clocked in 15:56.54, the third straight race he been under 16 minutes.
Barber came into the season with no expectations of being ALL-NE, "I didn't start thinking about until regionals", Barber said after the race.
Class B State runner-up Henry Jaques thought he had his best race of the season as he earned ALL-NE honors with his 19th place effort, Jaques was timed in 15:59.40.
Class C State runner-up Jacob Hickey had his finest race of the season as the senior from Winthrop ran a lifetime best 16:01.15 to finish 19th overall.
Falmouth was the top Maine team as the Yachstmen finished 14th overall with a 16:52 team average. They were 109 points better than Deering who placed 20th overall.

Jeremiah Sands of Falmouth was the top Maine finisher at the NE Championship meet with a 7th place finish
Tucker Barber of Mt Blue finished 12th to earn ALL-NE honors.
Henry Jaques of Freeport was the top Class B finisher at the NE's with his 19th place finish.
Jacob Hickey of Winthrop finished off his HS XC career with a 20th place effort to earn ALL-NE honors.
