10 Maine Athletes Earn ALL-NE Honors led by Sands & Hamilton

Abby Hamilton continued her excellent fall as she was the top Maine finisher at the New England High School Championship held at Ponaganset High School in Rhode Island. Hamilton covered the 5k layout in 18:23.2 to finish 9th overall, this was the first time the senior has earned ALL-NE honors.
With 250 of the top runners in New England taking off at once, Hamilton found herself behind from the start, "I didn't have the best start, so I had to work my way up the first mile." she would say post race.
Hamilton didn't let the start get in her way as she battled her way through the pack working her way into the top ten. "Coming into today my goal was top ten."
Running close behind was Katherine Leggat-Barr of Greely who nabbed a 12th place finish, her time was 18:24.04. The 12th place effort was a 5 place improvement over a year ago for Leggat-Barr
Sophomore Carolyn Todd edged out Falmouth sophomore Malaika Pasch at the line 18:29.58 to 18:29.87. Todd earned ALL-NE honors for the second time in as many tries, a year ago she finished 20th. Pasch the Class A State champion running in her first New England XC Championship ran very well securing ALL-NE honors, he time was the second fastest of her career.
Tia Tardy of MDI earned ALL-NE honors for the second consecutive season as the senior finished 21st in a time of 18:38.14.
Yarmouth junior Anneka Murrin gave Maine its 6th ALL-NE athlete as she finished 24th overall with a time of 18:44.12.
Greely with Leggat-Barr in 12th & Todd in 13th was the top Maine team as the Rangers placed 12th overall. Greely averaged 19:48.02, and tallied 333. Yarmouth the Class B runner-up was the second Maine team, the Clippers placed 18th with 414 points.

Abby Hamilton of Yarmouth cemented herself as the top runner in Maine with her 9th place finish at the New England Championship.

Carolyn Todd of Greely edged out Malaika Pasch of Falmouth as the duo placed 13th & 14th overall to earn ALL-NE honors
Tia Tardy of MDI earned ALL-NE honors with her 21st place effort.
