With eight of the top ten from 2017 back this fall, Class A boys xc is going to be very fast and competitive from both an individual and team perspective.
Junior Lisandro Berry-Gaviria of Mt Ararat returns to defend his individual title this fall. Berry-Gaviria had quite a year winning the Class A XC title, then winning the mile & 2 mile indoors, before adding the 1600 & 3200m titles outdoors. He is the odds on favorite to repeat with how he has performed in championship meets over the last year.
Last year's runner-up Wyatt Lord of Hampden Academy is back looking to move up the podium one spot, and lead his team to victory. Lord clocked 16:35.43 on the tough layout at Twin Brook with states at Belfast this fall look for a fast race if the conditions hold up. Lord won the 800m state title outdoors, and ran a 1:58.03 at New Englands.
