Thornton Academy senior Travis Snyder will compete in the Pentathlon starting at 8:00am on Saturday. Snyder posted a score of 3134 at the USM Relays to qualify for the event. The 60m hurdles, and the long jump figure to be the University of Connecticut signee best events.



8:45amB - One Mile WalkFINAL
Thornton Academy's Lucas Judice will compete in the 1 mile racewalk, Judice has a best time of 8:24.11 which ranks him fourth fastest in the country this winter. He placed 9th in the 3k racewalk at NBON last spring.



12:00noonB - Long JumpFINAL

Mattanawacook Cayden Spencer-Thompson will compete in the emerging elite long jump at noon on Saturday. A year ago the Louisville bound senior jumped 23-10 1/4 to win the emerging elite section to set a NBIN record. This year Spencer-Thompson qualified for the championship section with a best of 23-7 1/4. He hasn't jumped in over a month in a competition. He'll jump in flight 2.


3:00pmB - Pole VaultFINAL

The all-time state record holder Travis Snyder of Thornton Academy will also compete in the championship pole vault after the pentathlon. Snyder cleared a personal best & all-time Maine record of 16-7 in winning the Class A state title. The 16-7 leap ranks Snyder 6th in the country entering the competition.



3:55pmB - 400mTrials

Sprint standout Jarett Flaker of Scarborough will look to lower his personal best of 48.73 which he set at the Terrier Classic at BU in January to lower his previous record of 49.24. Flaker will run in section 4 with the top seed in the event Justin Robinsn (46.71). Flaker won the Class A 400m for the second year in a row, and placed 5th in the 300m at New Englands last week.  Last winter he finished 5th in the emerging elite 400m.



4:30pmG - Long JumpFINAL

Orono senior Camille Kohtala will compete with the top long jumpers in the country. Kohtala jumped a personal best 19-4 this winter to move to the second best jumper in state history. She added the Class B state title, and placed 5th in the New England's last weekend with a 18-3 leap. She will be in flight 2.


4:45pmB - Freshman 400mFINAL

Andrew Farr of Gorham & Jayden Flaker of Scarborough will compete in the freshman 400m. Farr has a best time of 52.96 on the year, and is coming off a 36.29 300m at New Englands. Farr's 300m took .02 off Jarett Flaker's freshmam 300m state all-time best. The 36.29 converts to a 50.68 for 400m which would be much faster than the 51.89 state all-time in the event. Speaking of Flaker, the younger brother of Jarett ran 53.22 at BU to qualify.


5:00pmB - Shot PutFINAL

Thornton Academy senior Jason Montano enters the meet as the third ranked thrower in the country. Montano has had a great winter breaking the Class A state meet record, and SMAA conference records in the shot put. Last weekend at New England's he threw a personal best 63-2 1/2 to finish as the runner-up to US#1 Aiden Felty, Montao's throw was further than the previous meet record. A year ago he finished 16th throwing 56-8 1/2. On the season he has thrown over 60 feet seven times.


5:55pmB - 200mTrials

Flaker will also compete in the championship 200m. He enters with a best of 21.86 on the year which he ran at BU to shatter his previous state record of 22.14. He has a tough lane draw which will see him run out of lane 2.
