How long have you been running and how did you get started?
I started running consistently in sixth grade,
though I've loved to run from a very young age and always ran my town fun run.
This summer I did a lot of cross training such as biking and aqua jogging. I usually track time instead of mileage so I'm really not sure how much mileage I'm putting in.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
I want to run sub-twenty this season on a course other than Belfast, but that really depends on what courses we go to this year.
What is your favorite workout?
My favorite workout is one where we have a
partner and we take turns running 800s. I love it because 800m is my favorite
distance and it's a team effort.
Last year I learned how to recognize when my heart rate was too high and a breathing technique to bring it down.
When I am not running I really love to play
violin or make art.
I don't have any particular pre-race rituals
except to drink a lots of water.
"At the end of the day we can endure much more than we think we can."- Frida Kahlo
What shoes do you race/train in?
I just got Hokas to train in this season and
they have a lovely amount of cushioning. I race in Saucony spikes.
I would like to meet Joan Benoit Samuelson. It's
awesome that she's from Maine and that she won the marathon the first time
women were allowed to run in it in the Olympics. Coach Fournier has definitely
made me a fan of her.
My favorite food is peanut butter.
One word to describe yourself
As for one word, how about... creative.
