What has your summer training consisted of? How much mileage you putting in?
My summer mileage has consisted of nice runs to get my body to feel in
semi-shape. During this summer my mileage was between 35-50 miles and my
longest run was a 12 miler.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My goals for this upcoming season is to win Southern Maine Regionals and
to hit under 16 twice. This year we have basically all hilly courses so
that'll be an extremely tough goal, but I'm looking forward to the
challenge. At regionals I can't wait to battle with Tristram Coffin, Ben
Greene, and Ben Potter.
What is your favorite workout that makes you feel most prepared for success?
My favorite workout that makes me feel the most prepared are 1k's. It's
more of that distance that gives you the speed for your race, but also
adds a little kick at the end to see what shape you're actually in.
What did you learn from last xc season that will help you improve in 2019?
One major thing that I learned from last xc season is that no matter
what shape you're in at the beginning of the season it won't reflect the
end results. I know this may seem so simple, but it's not. Last year I
encountered an injury at the beginning of the season. I wasn't able to
run, but I found out other ways to stay in shape. Due to this I got back
into shape pretty quick and my comeback race I pr'd by 8 seconds and
kept on getting new pr's throughout the season. My point is don't give
up because it's only the beginning, keep on going til you hit the end.
Do you have a favorite course?
My favorite course is Twin Brook. I know this may put people in
shock, but it's actually a really fun course and I can't wait to race it
twice.
What do you love most about running?
The thing I love most about running is the friendships. You will never
forget the people you raced with side by side for races and races.
Now that you're a senior how is the college search going?
The college search is GREAT!! I love talking to different coaches
hearing different things from their programs. I can't wait to take the
official visits this fall!!
How is your team looking for the fall?
Our team is looking pretty good. One of our top runners has
improved by a significant amount and I can't wait to see how he helps
out the team. Our 6,7,8,9 runners are pretty close time wise and it's
going to be a push to see who's in the top 7, but it'll make the team
stronger overall. I can't wait for our team to show what we can do at
regionals and states. Watch out for Bonny Eagle this fall.
What shoes will you train in and race in?
This fall I will train in Nike Pegasus 36s and race in Nike xc 5s.
Favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school has to be math. I feel as it's the most underrated subject of all time.
What was the last movie you saw and what did you think of it?
The last movie I saw was on Netflix called, Murder Mystery. I think
its an amazing movie. The movie always kept me guessing and it's kinda
like the movie Clue if you've ever seen that.
What is your Pet Peeve ?
My biggest pet peeve is when people bonk right into you and never
say a single word or never even look at you. I think its extremely rude.
Lastly, if you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?
If I was stranded on an island I would bring Alec Troxell, a flare gun, and a cup so we can make sand castles.
