Fastest 500 Girls Times in State Meet History @ Twin Brook
Sofie Matson of Falmouth ran the fastest time at Twin Brook at states by 16 seconds on Saturday. Matson clocked 17:52.02 in her dominating win in the Class A race, her time is the only state meet performance under 18 minutes. Matson in fact has run under 18 minutes the past two weekend's at Twin Brook. Matson's teammate Karley Piers who was the Class A runner-up moved to the 12th fastest performer with her 19:18.61, while Class B champion Lila Gaudrault of Cape Elizabeth jumped up to 14th with her 19:19.62. Gorham's Kate Tugman the third place finisher in the Class A meet recorded the 15th best time (19:21.58), she was followed by Delaney Hesler of Bonny Eagle who moved to 17th on the all-time list.
Saturday saw plenty of fast times as before the meet 22:30 was the cut-off for the top 500 while that number dropped to 22:13 this weekend as 74 athletes recorded top 500 performance...
