Flashback Friday: Flaker Breaks 100m Record, 10.71
At the 2019 Southwesterns Scarborough junior Jarett Flaker broke the Maine state record for the 100m of 10.76 with his wining effort of 10.71. The old record was set back in 2013 at the WMC Championship by Denzel Tomaszewski. Flaker was pushed throughout the race by Cheverus junior Sean Tompkins who ran 10.85 for second the third fastest effort in state history.
The 11 second barrier in Maine has been accomplished by nine different individuals, Flaker has broken the barrier on four different occasion throughout his storied career.
Flaker went on to win the Class "A" in 2019 in the 100m clocking 10.92, he also added wins in the 200m & 400m, plus anchored the 4x400m to victory.
In his career Flaker holds Maine state records at the 100m, & 400m outdoors, plus the 55m, 200m, 300m, & 400m indoors.
