All-Time 100m Programs
We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1996, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer. While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.
We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.
Today we are going to take a look at the boy's 100m dash. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of 94 teams visit the link below
COMPLETE LIST
Edward Little with three athletes under 11 seconds is the top 100m program in state history. Led by Colby Brooks who ranks fourth-fastest all-time with his 10.86 the Red Eddies have a rich tradition of speed. John Alexander and Hunter Martin are the other sub 11 performers. For the five scorers, EL averaged 11.02.
Scarborough has moved up to the second spot led by state record holder Jarett Flaker who clocked 10.71 a year ago. While Flaker is the only Red Storm athlete to break 11, they have three others who have clocked under 11.07. The Red Storm averaged 11.01 for their five scorers. It should be noted that Scarborough has run the fastest 4x100 in state history, 42.99.
The Blue Blazes of Westbrook history is strong in the sprints led by Michael Barris who clocked 11.02. More recently Dante Lingley ran 11.11 which ranks just outside the top 30 performers in our database.
Wells High School ranks fourth overall, the Warriors Denzel Tomaszewski ranks second all-time in state history with his 10.76, while Justin Vigeant ran 11.0.
The Stags of Cheverus round out the top five programs. Cheverus is led by Sean Tompkins who clocked 10.85 a year ago to break the school record. Tompkins ranks third fastest in state history. Jackson McMann also ran a 10.94 (converted for hand time) for the Stags.
