All-Time Maine Girls 100m Hurdles Programs

All-Time 100m Hurdle Programs

We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1996, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer.  While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.

We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.

Today we are going to take a look at the girl's 100m hurdles. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of 101 teams visit the link below

The Purple Panthers of Waterville are the top-ranked girls' 100m hurdle program. Waterville has had an impressive group of athletes come through its program, and many of them competed in the hurdles. Leading the way is Alex Jenson who ran 14.87, while Shelby Tuttle was a few ticks behind at 14.90. Behind those two sub 15's, Olivia Thurston (15.23), Lynn Fleming (15.30) & Sarah Shoulta (15.44) filled out the scoring five. Waterville had an absurd 15.15 team average and had seven athletes under 15.47.

Bangor is the second-ranked program, the Rams are led by Grace MacLean who ranks in a tie for the third-fastest time ever clocked by a Maine high school girl, 14.75. Behind here Denae Johnson is tied for the eighth-fastest time in state history at 14.83. The Rams averaged 15.34 for their scoring five.

The Wildcats of York rank as the third-best program. Leading the way is Chelsey Tewell who is tied for the third-fastest time in state history, 14.75. Stephanie Lomasney ranks second at 15.35. The scoring average for York is 15.56

Scarborough is the fourth-ranked program with recent 2020 graduate Emily Labbe leading the Storm. Labbe's personal best is equal to the third-best time in state history, 14.75. Scarborough has all five scorers at 15.86 or faster, only top-ranked Waterville has all five under 16 seconds.

Rounding out the top five hurdle program is the Golden Trojans of Thornton Academy. Tori Daigle is the top hurdler for TA with her 15.46. They averaged 15.71 for their scoring five.
