All-Time Long Jump Programs

We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1996, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer.  While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.

We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.

Today we are going to take a look at the girl's long jump. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of 94 teams visit the link below

The Bangor Rams have excelled on the long jump runway over the years, their success has them ranked as the top-ranked program in state outdoor track history. Leading the way is Grace MacLean who leaped a best of 17-7 3/4 during her career. Behind her, the Rams are deep in talent and quality with all five scorers at seventeen feet or better. Tiffany Gray ranks second with a 17-6 1/2 effort and current Ram Alyssa Elliott is third with a 17-6 1/4 best. Impressively Bangor averaged 17-5 for their top five.

The Red Eddies of Edward Little ranks as the second-best program in state history. Emily Dodge leads the way with her 17-10 personal best, behind her Lindsey Visbaras leaped 17-8 1/4. EL averaged 17-4 3/4 for their five scoring jumpers while having four girls jump at least 17-2.

Thornton Academy currently ranks third led by the fourth-best jumper in state history Mia Taranko who leaped 18-3. TA is the only program to have two athletes over eighteen as Tori Daigle jumped 18-0 1/2 to join the aforementioned Taranko is the select group. As a program, their scoring five averaged 17-4 1/2.

The Stags of Cheverus in their short time as a program have made a huge impact ranking fourth-best. 2019 graduate Emma White leads the way with her 18-2 jump which ranks fifth-best all-time in state history.

Rounding out the top five programs is the Waterville Purple Panthers. Alexis Brandon leads the way with her 17-5 1/2 personal best.
