All-Time 200m Programs
We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1996, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer. While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.
We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.
Today we are going to take a look at the boy's 200m. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of 90 teams visit the link below.
The Red Storm of Scarborough is the top-ranked 200m program led by 2020 graduate Jarett Flaker who ranks fifth-best all-time with his 22.12. Behind him, four others have run 22.71 or faster, including Mike Smith who ran 22.47 and Ryan Jamison who ran 22.50. Scarborough averaged 22.49 for their scoring five and have seven athletes 22.82 or faster.
Edward Little comes in just slightly behind the Red Storm in the all-time rankings. John Alexander and Colby Brooks lead the way for the Red Eddies with times of 22.28 and 22.29 respectively. They averaged 22.52 for their scoring five with all running 22.84 or faster.
The Stags of Cheverus rank third-best all-time led by Jake Dixon's 22.19. Behind him Cheverus had four others run 22.79 or better. Recent 2020 graduate Sean Tompkins is tied for third-best at 22.64.
Falmouth currently ranks fourth-best in the 200m. Will Wegener is at the top with his 22.38 best. The Yachtsmen have three more athletes who have run under 22.84.
Rounding out the top five programs is the Spartans of Sanford. Chris Leigh is the top 200m runner with his 22.69. Sanford averaged 22.85 for their scoring five and have had four athletes run 22.88 or faster.
