All-Time Maine Girls Pole Vault Programs

All-Time Pole Vault Programs

We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1995, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer.  While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.

We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time, and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.

Today we are going to take a look at the girl's pole vault. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of the 62 teams visit the link below.

Bangor High School has established itself as the top pole vault in state history. The Rams have five girls over ten feet in their history. Leading the way is Rihan Smallwood who ranks second all-time in state history with her 11-7 1/4 personal best. Courtney Lizotte and Abby Reynolds both have cleared 10-6. Bangor averaged 10-7 for each jumper.

The Red Storm of Scarborough is the second-ranked program. Like top-ranked Bangor Scarborough has all five girls over 10 feet. Catherine Bailey and recent 2020 graduate Anna Gardner pace the Red Storm will 10-6 clearances.

Edward Little is ranked third with Jaclyn Masters 11-0 personal best leading the way. Lauren Berube ranks second for EL with a strong 10-9 clearance. The Red Eddies averaged 10-2 1/2 per jumper.

The Red Riots of Orono are next with Shelby Wheeler and Allison Pickering leading the way with their 10-3 personal bests.

Rounding out the top five pole vault programs is Belfast. Bryna Harrington is the top vaulter for the lions with the best mark of 10-6. Current jumper Lia Frazee and Kylie Nelson both have cleared 10 feet.
