Notable Finishes: 14th Festival of Champions 2019, 8th Northern Maine Regional 2019, 17th Class A State Championship 2019
Comments: Valliere helped Brunswick win the Maine Festival of Champions last fall. He played a key role in the Dragons finishing second in the KVAC Championship and Northern Maine Regional as well. He is in position to be a top ten caliber runner this fall after finishing 17th a year ago. During indoor track, he clocked personal best at the mile (4:39.34) and 2 mile (10:14.07).
How has COVID-19 affected you?
It's definitely been a change of scenery, learning from home took a little while to get used to. I've been able to spend a lot more time outside, go fishing more and focus on my training as much as possible
What has your summer training consisted of? How much mileage are you putting in?
My average mileage is 30-35 miles, running six days a week and time trials once every 2-3 weeks.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
Don't get hurt, improve my kick, and get down to 15:50.
What is your favorite workout that makes you feel most prepared for success?
800 or 1000 repeats, really builds up my stamina for the last leg of each race.
What did you learn from last xc season that will help you improve in 2020?
I've learned that If I run through the course in my mind and figure out where I need to push myself, I tend to have faster times.
How is your team looking for the fall?
Our team is looking pretty good, our goals for the season are to have fun, stay healthy, and improve as much as we can.
How do you stay motivated when you don't want to run?
Setting goals has helped me stay on track, so I always keep those in the back of my mind.
What is the greatest piece of advice you've ever received in the sport?
If you haven't passed out, you still have more to give.
What are the top three "little things" that you do to prevent injury?
Stretching, (not as much as I probably should) lots of water, and lots of rest.
What is the one thing you have done during COVID-19 that you have never had time for in the past?
I've been able to finish a lot of projects my family and I started and didn't have time to finish, until COVID, and we were home all the time.
What's the farthest you've ever run at one time?
About 10 1/2.
If every day were a holiday, what would yours be?
April Fools Day.

Science or History, both are pretty good
If you could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?
Louis Zamperini, his story is pretty incredible.
