2019 Class B Girls State Championship Race

We examined the top teams in Class B girls cross-country for the upcoming 2020 season. We looked at top returners for each team, as well as the state meet finish from 2019 to come up with who we think will be the teams to watch this fall.

The top three teams from 2019 are back all with title aspirations in 2020. Cape Elizabeth who finished third was expected to be the top returning team but suffered a blow when Lila Gaudrault decided to forgo the cross-country. They still return the 2019 runner-up Charlotte DeGeorge who will be an individual title threat looking to secure that low stick for the Capers. Also back from last fall is rising sophomore Lydia Branson who placed 17th. Junior Marcella Hesser is back after a 27th place finish, as is Zoe Evans who finished 58th last fall. Cape will need the incoming freshman to step right in an make an impact if they are to win the title.
