Winthrop senior Madison Forgue and sophomore Holly Hunt of Monmouth Academy are the top returners in the Mountain Valley Conference this fall. Forgue placed fifth last fall and has the third-fastest returning 5k time with her 21:57 effort from the Class C state meet. Hunt who finished three seconds behind Forgue at the conference championship last fall had a best of 21:51 for 5k in 2019.
