All-Time 110m Hurdle Programs

We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1994, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer.  While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.

We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.

Today we are going to take a look at the boy's 110m hurdles. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of 91 teams visit the link below


The Red Storm of Scarborough rank as the top high hurdle program. Senior Jayden Flaker is the top hurdler in Red Storm history with his 14.42 personal best which ranks tied for second best in Maine outdoor history. Griffin Madden ranks second for Scarborough with his 14.62. Scarborough has four athletes who have run under 15 seconds, and have a 14.78 average for the top five.

The Rams of Gorham rank as the second-best high hurdle program. Gorham has had fur athletes run under 15 seconds with Matt Spera leading the way with his 14.72. Dave Baker 14.87, and Julian Nijkamp 14.89 have had both run under 14.9 seconds. Gorham averaged 14.95.

Waterville has had a strong run of hurdlers and the Purple Panthers rank third overall. They are led by Troy Irvine's 14.72, while Travis Horner 14.82, and Dominik Alexis 14.99 have also run under 15 seconds. Waterville averaged 14.99 for their scoring five.

South Portland holds down the fourth spot, the Red Riots top two hurdlers are Max Ludwig 14.78, and Nathan Thompson 14.79. SP averaged 15.03 for their scoring five.

Rounding out the top five programs is Edward Little High School. The Red Eddies are paced by Andy Boyer's 14.42 which is tied for the second best state history. Tudum Monday moved to second best in EL history with his 15.02 effort this past spring.
