XC Countdown 2022: #17 Lincoln Academy Girls

Maine MileSplit 2022 XC Team Countdown

With the calendar switching to August soon we wanted to switch gears from the track to the trails to get ready for the upcoming cross-country season. Athletes around the state are hitting the roads and trails building up a strong base in hopes of a successful cross-country in 2022, with the hopes of lifting the state championship as a team in November the ultimate goal. Our plan is to highlight who we think are the top 25 returning girls and boys xc teams over the next three weeks. Thanks to Cheverus XC/track coach Nick Denari for volunteering his time and efforts to put this countdown together.

Adeline Hall placed 27th at the Class B state meet last fall for the Eagles.

2022 Outlook: Lincoln Academy lost 3 of their top 7 from last year and will need some younger runners to step up in order to repeat the successes of 2021. The Eagles should have a solid frontrunner in Audrey Hufnagel, who should threaten the 20-minute barrier after running 12:18 for 3200m as a sophomore. The next 3 runners behind her are very solid and should be able to utilize some pack running. Lincoln Academy could really use a solid 5th runner to solidify their spot towards the top of Class B. A year from now, the Eagles could be in the conversation for the Class B title: the top 6 returners from this team are all underclassmen.
