XC Countdown 2022: #16 Mt. Blue Girls

Maine MileSplit 2022 XC Team Countdown

With the calendar switching to August soon we wanted to switch gears from the track to the trails to get ready for the upcoming cross-country season. Athletes around the state are hitting the roads and trails building up a strong base in hopes of a successful cross-country in 2022, with the hopes of lifting the state championship as a team in November the ultimate goal. Our plan is to highlight who we think are the top 25 returning girls and boys xc teams over the next three weeks. Thanks to Cheverus XC/track coach Nick Denari for volunteering his time and efforts to put this countdown together.

Bridget Reusch & Nora McCourt will look to lead the Cougars this fall.

2022 Outlook: Mt. Blue is looking to reload after a season that saw them win a regional championship. The Cougars lost their top runner from a year ago, Emma Charles, and will need to find a new front-runner if they want to compete with the top teams in Class A this year. A strength of this team will be their depth: their seventh best returning time is better than all but the top 2 teams in the state. Any of the girls listed could end up in the scoring 5 for this squad by the end of the season.
