Here are the 2023 Maine Outdoor Track & Field state qualifying standards. Any athlete that obtains the automatic standard will be eligible to compete in that event at the state meet. If an athlete obtains the provisional standard it is not a guarantee they will compete in the state meet. The minimum number of athletes an event will likely have is 32 athletes. If there are 40 automatic qualifiers in an event and they all decide to compete they no provisional qualifiers will be able to compete. However if there are say 25 automatic qualifiers then in order the provisional qualifiers will be eligible to fill the field to 32 athletes. Any event that in read means the standard has changed from 2022.
