Salute to Seniors: Makenna Drouin (Lewiston HS)


When and how did you get into track and field?

I started my freshman year after I decided I didn't wanna play softball anymore.


Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

Anna Connor, Emma Green, Alyvia Caruso.


What was your greatest accomplishment?

Only started track my freshman year and been doing great.


How has track and field impacted your life?

It's basically my whole life now.


What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

Mental parts that people don't see.


How do you prepare for competitions?

Focus on myself.


What influence has your coach had on your high school career?

My former EL head coach Hefty taught me everything I know and what to do in track and my Lewiston head coach John taught me the big picture of track.


Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of track and field?

Being on the lake.


What are your college plans?

Go to Elon University to keep doing track.


What are your long-term goals?

Too early to determine.


Who would you like to say thank you to?

I want to say thank you to everyone in the Maine track community it was a great experience and honor to run as a Maine athlete.


What advice would you give to younger athletes?

It's not all about the wins, it's about how well you're doing as an athlete, and if you lose but you still ran a good time or a pr that's still a win for yourself.
