We took a deep dive into the 2025 Festival of Champions results to highlight the athletes who showed the most improvement from last year's race. Focusing on those who competed in both 2024 and 2025, we broke the data down by previous finishing time-grouping runners who originally raced in the 16s, 17s, 18s, 19s, and 20+ minute ranges.

Among the 16-minute group, Levi Riggs of Morse stood out as the top improver, cutting his time from 16:43.3 to 16:04.9 and placing fifth overall. In the 17-minute group, William Morris of Dirigo made a huge leap-dropping 1:18 to finish in 15:58.1 after running 17:16.9 in 2024, good for fourth place overall.

Edward Little's Harper Borden led the 18-minute group, taking more than two minutes off his previous time (18:40 to 16:22), earning a ninth-place finish. Jackson Stimmel of Sanford topped the 19-minute group, trimming his time by 1:32, from 19:44 to 18:12.
