We took a deep dive into the 2025 Festival of Champions results to spotlight the athletes who made the biggest year-over-year gains. Focusing on runners who competed in both 2024 and 2025, we analyzed improvements by grouping athletes based on their 2024 finishing times - those who raced in the 18-, 19-, 20-, 21-, and 22-plus-minute ranges.

In the 18-minute group, York's Zoe Carroll stood out as the most improved, cutting 12 seconds from her 2024 time to finish third overall this year.

Leading the 19-minute group was Georgia Moon of Falmouth, who made a huge leap by dropping 1:03 off her time, moving from 20:01 down to 18:58 and earning a runner-up finish.

In the 20-minute range, Kate Morrison of Portland made a major move forward, trimming 1:01 from her mark - going from 20:45 to 19:44.

For the 21-minute athletes, Cheverus's Annabel Kimball saw one of the biggest jumps in the field, slicing off over two minutes with a new best of 19:34 (down from 21:41).
