Using each athlete's fastest 5k time from the 2025 season, we took a look at the top returning boys' cross country teams statewide heading into 2026. Yarmouth, the 2025 Class B champion, returns the most depth and talent, making the Clippers early favorites to repeat for next fall. Houlton/GHCA, which dominated Class C this season, ranks second among returning squads, while Portland, Camden Hills, and Gorham are close behind and poised to challenge.
