 Southwest Classic Boys Preview

Varsity Boys Teams
The boys varsity is much anticipated as the top schools from the SMAA & the WMC will square off. The meet features #1 Scarborough, #2 Falmouth, #3 Gorham, #4 Cape Elizabeth, #6 Massabesic, #8 Greely, #10 York & #12 Cheverus from last week’s MaineTrackXC fan/athlete poll.  Two of the aforementioned teams, #2 Falmouth & #4 Cape will be resting their varsity squads, but that doesn’t diminish the top notch team competition that we should see on Saturday.  What we should get out of this meet is who is the top team in the SMAA. It should be noted most of these teams will square off again next week at The Festival of Champions in Belfast.

#1 ranked Scarborough has yet to run a 5k, but has been impressive to start off the 2010 season, including a perfect score at their first meet. They are led by Nick Morris, who has won both races this season.
