Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
SOPHIA POULIN, Leavitt Area High School (Maine): Swept both jumping events at the Morse Meet #1, clearing 5-2.5 in the high jump and reaching 18-7 in the long jump. Both marks earned her victories and established her as the top sophomore in Maine in each event.
Ella Cameron, Yarmouth High School (Maine): Dominated the throwing events at the meet in Freeport, winning the discus with a mark of 128-9 and taking the javelin at 125-0. Also placed first in the shot put with a throw of 37-0.25.
Elyannah Briggs, Old Town High School (Maine): Cleared 5-4 to win the high jump at the Hermon Meet #1 and added a second-place finish in the long jump at 16-2.
Jacqueline Diallo, Traip Academy (Maine): Clocked a state-leading 25.67 in the 200 meters at the meet in Wells, winning by a comfortable margin in a field of 31 runners. Also took first in the 100 meters with a time of 12.79.
Addison Elliott, Hampden Academy (Maine): Turned in strong performances across distance events at the Hampden Meet #2, running 58.89 for second place in the 400 meters and winning the 3200 meters in 11:24.91.
