Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
Georgia Moon, Falmouth High School (Maine): Ran 4:57.66 to place 5th in the 1600 at the New England Track & Field Championship. The #2 junior in Maine in the event clocked the top time among Maine athletes competing at the meet.
Ella Cameron, Yarmouth High School (Maine): Threw for third in the javelin at 130-5 and fourth in the discus at 131-9 at the New England Track & Field Championship. In the discus, she beat state #2-ranked Liz Green head-to-head and posted the top mark among Maine throwers in both events at the meet.
Liz Green, Brunswick High School (Maine): Put up 128-11 for 5th place in the discus at the New England Track & Field Championship.
Elliette Musica, Brunswick High School (Maine): Competed in two events at the New England Track & Field Championship, running 57.97 in the 400 and 12.41 in the 100. The #3 junior in the state in the 400 and #2 junior in the 100 posted the second-fastest times among Maine sprinters in both events at the meet.
Angelina Boisvert, Nokomis High School (Maine): Competed in three events at the New England Track & Field Championship, highlighted by an 8th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 38-2.5. She also turned in marks of 35-6.5 in the triple jump and ran 16.42 in the 100m hurdles, posting the top Maine mark in the shot put among competitors at the meet.
