New Balance Outdoor Nationals RESULTS
Day 4: Yarmouth's Ella Cameron moved up to Maine #2 all-time in the javelin with her personal best 137-6 effort to earn All-American honors with a fourth-place finish.
Day 3: Noble's Nolan Moore walked his way to a national championship in the 1600m racewalk. Moore clocked 7:03.13 to secure the title. Bangor's Andrew Lam earned All-American honors with a fourth-place effort of 7:31.33, while Jacob Burnham of Lewiston secured honors as well with a sixth-place finish of 7:33.17. Ryan Hanlon of Lisbon/Oak Hill was 8th (7:45.27), Noah Kay and Folsom Lamer of South Portland placed 9th and 10th.
In the middle school boys' 800m, Sawyer Wess, running for Valor Track Club, recorded a personal best effort of 2:06.01 to finish third in section 1. Reagan Mattson returned to the track in the MS 800 and ran her second personal best of the weekend, 2:23.85, as she finished third in section 1.
New England high jump champion Isabella Harmon cleared 5-4 1/2 to place 27th in the championship section. Fellow teammate Laurel Driscoll was fourth in section one of the Mile as she ran 5:00.78, while Zoe Carroll of York ran 5:04.86.
In the championship triple jump, Class A state champion Nsungui Mankatu placed 20th with a jump of 47-1 3/4.
Nora Schmidt ran in the 2k Steeplechase, setting the #2 time in Maine history in the event with an eight-second personal best 7:06.95; she finished 16th overall.
Yarmouth freshman Hayden Aines made the final in the freshman triple jump with a leap of 36-11 1/2 to place eighth. While Scarborough's Lena Asali tossed a personal best 101-4 in the freshman javelin, fellow Red Storm freshman Bella Monacelli ran in the 800m, clocking 2:23.01 to finish 83rd. Gorham freshman Colby Fernald threw 127-7 to place 31st in the freshman section, while in the girls event, Rivers Bradford of Bangor Christian finished sixth with a best throw of 108-5. In the 100m hurdles, Caitlin Jenkins from Ellsworth clocked a personal best and state-leading 15.15.
Day 2: Mateo Diaz showed the level of talent he has with an impressive 9:45.25 for 2 miles as he finished seventh overall. He closed the final lap in 65 seconds. Diaz's time would have easily placed him at the state championship in every class this spring. Portland freshman Nora Schmidt ran a smart race, moving up throughout the race to place seventh in the freshman two-mile in a personal best 10:46.78. Her time is superior to the Maine freshman 3200m record of 10:45.75 set in 2021 by Ruth White.
Yarmouth's Hayden Aines improved her own freshman state long jump record with an 18-4 3/4 leap to place seventh in the freshman competition. The mark moves Aines to seventh best in state history.
Scarborough's Clara Humble competed in the freshman high jump; she cleared a new personal best 5-0 1/4 to place 22nd overall. Another Red Storm freshman, Lena Asali, competed in the discus and threw 101-5.
Day 1:New England 100m champion Drew Gervais returned to his signature event on Thursday, delivering a strong opening round performance. The Bonny Eagle standout clocked 10.77 to place fourth in his heat, finishing with the 35th fastest time of the day against a deep national field.
Representing Valor Track Club, incoming Falmouth freshman Mateo Diaz continued his impressive rise in the distance ranks. Diaz ran a personal best 4:37.02 in the mile, showcasing a strong finish with a 65.88 final lap-his fastest of the race. He placed sixth in section seven and 24th overall.
In the girls' middle school mile, Valor's Reagan Mattson, a future Maranacook competitor, delivered a breakout performance. Mattson captured the win in section three with a personal best time of 5:17.90, closing hard in 76.21 over the final lap.
Scarborough standout Bella Monacelli also turned in a strong effort in the girls' freshman mile, running a personal best 5:14.86. She finished seventh in section three and 51st overall, highlighted by a 76.16 closing lap.
Nike Outdoor Nationals RESULTS
Day 4: Georgia Moon made the most of her final race of the season as the junior pushed the pace in the fast section in EE mile to set a new personal best 4:57.13 to finish fifth overall. Moon's time at 1600m was 4:55.35 to match the seventh fastest in state history. New England 200m champion Seneca Haney ran 25.42 to finish 44th in the EE 200m. Hadley Oliver of John Bapst threw 38-9 in the EE Shot put to finish in 20th place.
Hadley Perry ran 66.19 in the EE 400m hurdles to set a new personal best, while Victoria Zandan clocked 66.69 in the EE 400m hurdles to place 26th. She also competed in the EE long jump, leaping 17-2 1/4 to finish 25th.
Day 3: Victoria Zandan of Greely clocked 15.29 to place 15th in the 100m hurdles while Hadley Perry was 48th in a time of 15.96. Mt Ararat boys competed in the EE 4x100, clocking 45.85 to finish 32nd. Evan Weymouth of Mt. Ararat jumped 42-2 3/4 in the EE triple jump, finishing 36th.
Day 2: Class A 1600m racewalk champion Cassidy Bishop of Falmouth won the 5000-meter racewalk national title as she covered the distance in 29:41.69 to win by fifty-three seconds. Ian Britt, the Class A 1600m champion, competed in the U20 5k walk. Britt finished 2nd in a time of 23:22.48.
New England 200m champion Seneca Haney of MDI clocked 12.57 in the Emerging Elite 100m to finish 57th. Georgia Moon returned to the track in the Emerging Elite 800m; the standout clocked 2:16.30, a new personal best and Maine #2, to finish 25th.
Day 1: Falmouth made the cross-country trip to Oregon to compete on one of track and field's biggest stages at Hayward Field, and delivered historic performances.
On the girls' side, the quartet of Myanna Chute, Hadley Perry, Georgia Moon, and Parker Fox took on the Championship Sprint Medley Relay and rose to the occasion. The group clocked 4:18.68 to finish eighth overall, recording the second-fastest time in Maine state history. They returned later in the meet for the Championship Distance Medley Relay and delivered again, posting 12:33.84, another mark that ranks second all-time in the state.
The Falmouth boys also made their presence felt in the Emerging Elite division. The Navigators ran 3:52.52 in the 1600m sprint medley relay to place 15th overall, and followed it up with a 1:36.72 performance in the 4x200 relay.
Karen Higgins of Lincoln Academy ran 18:56.72 in the EE 5000m race.
Adidas Outdoor Nationals RESULTS
Day 4: Class A discus champion Liz Green placed 16th in the championship discus with a throw of 111-10. Elliette Musica set a personal best 25.44 in the NE 200m while teammate Lacey Palese also set a new 200m personal best of 27.62. Lacey Dinsmore set a personal best in the NE 800m, clocking 2:22.15 to finish 22nd.
Logan Wise competed in the NE 200m, where he ran 23.42, and in the NE long jump 16-6 1/2.
Day 3:
Class A 100m champion Elliette Musica clocked 58.34 to win section 12 of the National Elite 400m; she finished 22nd. Simon Stadnicki competed in the NE Boys' 400m and hit a new personal best of 51.22 as he won section 11.
Jaiden Hebert of Lawrence High School threw 155-11 in the national elite discus to finish on the podium in sixth place. Teammate Jonathan Higgins 118-11.
In the NE high jump, Boris Felix of Ellsworth cleared 5-11 1/2 to finish 31st.
In the distance races, Phoebe Olcott competed in the freshman mile, clocking 5:38.17 to finish seventh. In the NE mile, Lacey Dinsmore set a new personal best of 5:14.01 as she closed the final lap in 75.38 to finish fourth.
Day 2: In the girls' National Elite 100m hurdles, Lacey Palese of Brunswick clocked 17.31 to finish 88th. Class A 100m champion Elliette Musica of Brunswick ran 12.39 in the National Elite race into a strong headwind of -2.5m/s. In the boys' National Elite 100m, Simon Stadnicki of Brunswick clocked 11.58 to place 176th.
Logan Wise of Lawrence clocked 11.77 in the NE 100m trials. Teammate Easton Blake ran 11.69 in the freshman 100m, finishing 74th
In the 2-mile, Lacey Dinsmore, also of Brunswick, cruised to a new personal best 11:49.60 to place tenth in the National Elite race. Teammate Fiona Hallett was a few places back in 14th after a 12:07.81 effort.
Day 1: Lacey Palese ran in the National Elite 400m hurdles, clocking 73.30 to finish 77th.
