Yarmouth's Jackie Chalmers leads the class of 2027; a year ago, he finished third in the Class B XC state meet and leads all returners this fall. Chalmers clocked a best of 16:35 for 5k a year ago. Camden Hills' Noah Seigh was the top sophomore at the Class A state meet last fall, finishing 20th. He clocked 16:47.53 to place 9th in the Northern Maine A Regional last fall. Eli Chalmers, Jackie's brother, is the third-fastest returner among all juniors; he clocked a 16:54.37 5k best last year and finished 9th in the Class B state meet. Teammate Bowen Mitchell was 6th in the B meet a year ago and returns with a best of 16:57. Cape Elizabeth's Leo Furrey is the other member of the class of 2027 that broke 17 minutes a year ago with a 16:57.95 best. Craig Paine of Madison is the top Class C returner from the state meet a year ago; he placed 7th overall.
