Other Teams to Watch in 2026
George Stevens Academy/Blue Hill Harbor ranks ninth in the fastest-five 5K rankings, making it one of the state's top small-school groups.
Sanford has a strong 5K average, ranking 10th, despite a less impressive JV ranking. That suggests the Spartans could be dangerous if they can develop their depth.
Winthrop is particularly interesting because its 3200 group ranks 10th despite the team sitting outside the top 20 in the 5K rankings. That could make the Ramblers one of the state's biggest wild cards.
Brunswick has one of the state's best JV groups, ranking eighth, while Oxford Hills brings a solid 5K group and depth.
Gray-New Gloucester, John Bapst, Berwick Academy, South Portland, Greely, Fryeburg Academy, Lake Region, Cheverus and Orono round out the teams appearing in the top 30 of the 5K data.
