This Week's Nominees:
Karen Higgins (Lincoln Academy): Higgins opened her senior season with a dominating win at the Panther 2-mile. Her winning effort of 11:41.03 was over a minute faster than the runner-up.
Ann-Sophie Drescher (Fryeburg Academy): Drescher, an exchange student from Germany, won her first XC race at the Dan Dors Invitational. She covered the 5k course in 22:05.
Reagan Mattson (Maranacook): Mattson opened her freshman season with a victory at the Scott Laliberte Invitational; she covered the 4k course in 15:50.95.
Nora Schmidt (Portland): The defending Class A champion won the Bonny Eagle Relay. Schmidt covered the 1.7 mile course in a time of 10:08.
