Top Freshman Girls 2011-2012 Indoor Track

    The freshman class of 2015 had an immediate impact on the girls side as one of the top sprinters Maine has ever seen burst onto the HS scence this winter. Kate Hall of Lake Region was dynamic from the beginning until the end. Hall broke 3 WMC conference records during her record breaking winter, she capped off her winter with 3 wins at the Class B state meet in the 55m, 200m, & long jump. To start her career off with 3 titles is impressive, how many more will she get? Hall's time in the 55m was ME#2, her 200m was ME#5, & her long jump was the best jump in the state. If she can stay healthy the records books may be re-written.

    Waterville had a strong freshman class, & the Panthers who easily defended their title look to be loaded for the future. Leading the way was Sarah Shoulta who finished 4th in the hurdles & Kellie Bolduc who finished 5th in the 400m. Bolduc is also a standout triple jumper who was ranked ME #2. The Panthers also got help from Lydia Roy who placed 6th in the 400m.

    There was plenty of other talent in the class as well. Greely's Emily Saunders was the top freshman in the triple jump at the state finishing 3rd. Saunders teammate Hannah Keisman also scored in the hurdles with a 5th place finish. Foxcroft's Fern Morrison had a strong year in the 800m, she finished 5th at the state meet. MDI's Caroline Driscoll ran well in the distances, she claimed 7th place in the 2 mile at the state meet
